Zac's Wedding! [23rd Jan 2011]

If you're wondering who's Zac, he's my NS friend, also a 3rd sergeant whom I met in my CPC (Commander's Preparatory Course)

We got to know each other better because we're both in HQ BMTC :D He's the PR section's admin spec while I am the sea ferry I/C in HQ BMTC :D

Zac is the same age as me.

And yes the marriage wasn't much of a choice unless you're a pro-choicer.

So that's the outcome.

When I found out that his then girlfriend was pregnant, I immediately met him for lunch to talk to him. To let him think about the pros and cons, implications and ramifications of a pro-life or pro-choice decision.

Well, his decision was already made. I just asked him how confident he was about starting a family and how much he loved his wife-to-be. He was optimistic. I just kept dropping questions to make him think and yup he was confident. So I guess I had done all that I can to make him think through his decision.

Yup, so that day came. His wedding dinner was at Roland Restaurant, a really good Chinese Restaurant in Marine Parade that has a Christian owner.

Here's the pictures :D

Me, CPL Farhan & LCP Haikarl :D

This is the Malay (Halal) table. I heard only vegetables were served and they all left before the food came. Haha.

Here's the best part...after talking to them and all, an aunty waiter came over and asked if we wanted beer. I said yes and asked her to fill Farhan's cup. HAHAHA! So there he was, staring at his goblet of beer. LOLS!

That was my birthday gift to him. HAHA! And yes, Farhan's birthday is coincidentally on the same day as Zac's wedding dinner. HAHA!

Take 2... :D

CPL Farhan has ORDed. He was a OOC from SISPEC because of SOC (swing trainer). He's the trg-coord spec, sitting opposite me and irritating me and making things difficult for me all the time. HAHAHAHA! Ok, not that bad la...LOLS!!

LCP Haikarl is the Leave clerk if I'm not wrong. If not his appointment name is GA ASA...General Admin Admin support assistant. Haha.

PTE Haidir, 3SG Firdaus & 3SG Benedict :D

Take 2... :D

PTE Haidir is a really nice and friendly PR ASA, 3SG Firdaus is my ASLC friend who is the welfare/finance spec and 3SG Benedict is a pure finance spec. :D For Benedict he OOCed for some medical reason and got promoted to 3SG as part of estab.

CPL Andy, 3SG JJ Phang & myself :D

CPL Andy is about to ORD. He's a diabetic and thus got this post. He's a RM (Recruit Management) clerk :D As for 3SG JJ, he's the RM spec. So they're basically from the same section :D

And this table is my table! The table behind me is the table for all the DXOs...all the aunties DX6-8 and all the retired lieutenant colonels, majors captains and retired warrant officers. Seated there was also 2LT Eric Wong, DY PR...poor thing. Haha! Imagine sitting with a bunch of old bosses. Haha!

Me & Benedict :D

Kerlee, Zac & Myself :D

Yes, that's Zac's wife! Haha. And yes, that's Zac...finally know how he looks like right? Looking through my post and no pictures of him. LOLS!

Take 2 :)

Yup, that was Zac's wedding dinner! :) There are still many pics stuck in Zac's camera & in Rowen's camera...HAHA! So yup, check out my fb pics then...haha.

All the best Zac in starting your own family tree! :D

Yang Cheng's 21st Birthday Celebration!

I think this group of friends are the most ad-hoc group of friends ever. LOLS. L4D matches are planned within the day itself and sometimes just a phone call hours before. haha! Exciting group of friends I have.

This one was another uber ad-hoc. I just finished eating dinner at home when I received a phone call...I look at the number "Yang Cheng" was wondering if he was asking me out for another round of L4D. LOLS!

"Eh Jonavan! We're at Clarke Quay, Liang Court now celebrating my birthday. Want to come?"

I was like...huh?! I told him I'll let him in 5mins. I put down looked through my schedule, clear. So I joined them :D

Yup, shall let the pictures narrate the events that follows...

My first picture with the b'day boy :D

Take 2 on Joel's camera :D

Take 3! :D

All of us! :D

The ladies present, excluding Lebbu...

We then went to the Coffee Connoisseur for dessert. There they kept playing the double/triple chin game where everyone will retract their heads and see how many folds of skin they can create...HAHA!

We know who the winner is...Joel Qin...Even his surname says it all...Qin, Chin. Sama la siol. HAHAHA!

We then bought Yang Cheng a cake! :D Ok, we didn't buy it, Yang Cheng bought it, but we chose it. LOLS! Yang Cheng treated us all...even the dinner he paid for it! Haha. Nice guy eh? :)

I was saying "Whoa, your birthday should be people buy for you not you buy for people" haha! True right? LOLS!
Breathe in...

Breathe out!

Group photo! :)

Take 2! :D

Take 3 :)

Take 4 :)

Take 5 :D

Take 6 :)

Smoker & Boomer spawns...LOLS!! HAHAHA!

The thing is, I didn't know it was Yang Cheng's 21st birthday until I came home and saw Lebbillie's picture below...HAHA!

In summary...

So yup, was quite a fun outing. We had 8 people!! Just nice to L4D but they didn't want to!! :( All of them played L4D before lor...haha.

Anyway, Happy Birthday Yang Chang and thanks for your invite! Even though last minute, it's still appreciated! :)

Daryl's OCC 79/10

Just after attending one of my best friend's POP, yet another of my bestie is also passing out...For him, it's not called passing out, it's called Commissioning.

I finally have to salute 2LT Daryl after his 79/10 Commissioning Parade.

Before I relate the flow of events, let me give you the backdrop of the story...

- Dearest Daryl is going to be commissioned on 15th January 2011.
- He only has 6 tickets (after taking like 4 or 2 from his friends)
- He invited 11 of us.

Do you see a problem? Haha.

The 6 tickets were for his family members...His dad, mum, Cai Jie, Cheryl, Meryl & Jeremy. Ok, Jeremy's not officially family but.......they're considering him to be. LOLS!

The 5 of us...Me, Marc, Matthew, Jon Wee & Yourong had to do sneak attack and flank our way in...HAHAHA!
So I met up with Marc & Matthew. Matthew then brought us in through the backdoor of OCS through SDC (Singapore Discovery Centre)...we walked for like 2km man!! SO DARN FAR IN!!!

We walked through this jungle trail where there was a danger sign that says "Beware of Snakes"...I was like..%$&*($&@#*!()$&@*)(% THERE ARE SNAKES IN OCS?!

Nevertheless, we made it there and it started to drizzle. Upon reaching the grandstand entry, an officer cadet asked us if we had tickets. Marc was like "Err...Matthew, where you put the tickets?...Still with our other friend right? Ok, we wait for our friend to come first..."

DIAOS. We then went to the toilet to try to find another way in...But the marshallers (officer cadets in their No. 1 outfit) WERE EVERYWHERE!!

Back door failed. We then met up with Uncle Peter & Aunty Doris (Daryl's parents) and went in using their invitation card. LOLS!

The dua lao sai thing is...the moment we met up with them, Cheryl's first ask-out-loud-for-everyone-to-hear-question was "HOW YOU ALL COME IN??"

-___-"!!!!

That wasn't all, when we reached the grandstand entry area where they checked tickets, she asked us again "I thought you all went to photocopy the tickets?"

HU LEE YA!!!

No words could've describe our agony then. Such pure innocence that could've wasted our 2km hike in from the backdoor...LOLS!

The best part is, when we went in, Jon Wee & Yourong were already seated in the grandstand, with the fan blowing at their heads... -___-"

We seated separately though...
Their means of entry? BLATANTLY taking the bus in and trailing with another family in...!@%$&*#(&#@$)(%*&$#*%()$ HUUUULLEEEEEYAAYAYAYA!!!

We could've done the same!! So much for the stealth flanking of SAFTI MI...LOLS!

So that was our top secret, high-level, commando-style infiltration of OCS...HAHAHA! So yup, pictures...

The only piece of evidence that Marc was there...LOLS!

Marc came with us...and he left without us. Marc left even before the parade started. LOLS!! The parade started late though because they waited for the rain to subside. So yup, that was Marc's awesome visit to OCS. Haha!

Can you see Daryl? The middle cutesy guy? haha.

This was how rabak the rain was...The car that ferried President Nathan leaving after the parade inspection.

The moment the parade started, the drizzle became heavier...When President Nathan went down in the car (above) to inspect the parade, the drizzle turned into rain.

You could hear the crowd's response...a "hoorrrr" audible sound of "jia lat" could be heard when the frequency of the rain's pitter patter increased.

The thing is, they didn't provide an umbrella because they thought a drizzle wouldn't do much harm. Little did they know that President Nathan would become the first president to be drenched in his blazer...Haha.

The rest of the marching drills and all, you don't want to know. I didn't take much pictures of the parade either. LOLS.

Ok now here's the good part. Daryl had 6 dinner tickets. 2 specially for his parents at the VIP dinner reception and 4 for the buffet dinner. Daryl bought 2 more buffet dinner tickets from his friend as he didn't have anyone to give it to.

Initially, the 4 tickets are to be used by Cai Jie & Cheryl + Jeremy & Meryl. But they didn't want to go so WE GOT THE 4 TICKETS!! Me, Matthew, Jon Wee & Yourong! :D Thank God Marc left if not we'd have to draw lots man...haha!

Yup, after the parade we headed to the Warrior's Hall for our buffet dinner :D

On the way there...I met several friends...

My BMT platoon mate! REC Kenneth Cheng! Now a 2LT :D

Guess who took the photo for me & Kenneth? One of our BMT SEC COMD!! HAHAHA! We both forgot his name and didn't bother asking LOLS! I just remembered his name...3SG Koh Wen Fong. LOLS!

Kenneth still irritatingly bent down and flashed his rank at him...LOLS! Wen Fong was short of giving him a tight slap and showing us his pink IC. HAHA!

Walking down the aisle I further bumped into Joan, Jill & Chee Yong! LOLS!

Take 1 with my cam

Take 2 with Joan's camera :D

Last shot again with Joan's camera...haha.

We finally reached Warrior's Hall for our buffet dinner :D It wasn't much of a buffet though, when we went for round 2, the food already cleared... -__-"

Jon Wee, Yourong, Myself & Matthew :D

Guess who took the photo for us?

Guests who shared the table with us. 4 ah-nehs! LOLS! Throughout our meal, we kept cracking jokes in hokkien about them and we were laughing away hysterically right in front of them...HAHAHA!

Matthew was the worst. His laughter made our laughters worse cos now we were not just laughing at our jokes, we were laughing at Matthew's laughter! HAHA!

I wonder what the Indians are telling each other man "I think these Chinese are laughing at us, let's whack them!" or something like that...HAHA! Can't be, if that was their conversation, I wouldn't be typing this post now. LOLS!

After our dinner we waited for like 3 hours++ for Daryl to finish his special dinner reception -__-" We almost died of boredom...In our boredom we just snapped photos lor...haha.

Here's an interesting series...

Matthew with closed eyes

Matthew trying to open his eyes...

Success! Eyeballs can be fully seen!

HAHAHA! Now you know that you need three shots on average with Matthew in order to get a picture with him with his eyes open...HAHAHA!

FINALLY, the arrival of our guest-of-honour, 2LT Daryl Tan Weiquan!! After waiting at his assigned admin wingline for like 3hours++ we finally get to take a picture with him and share this special moment with him!! Haha.

The first precious photo :)

Take 2 :D

I don't know what's so suspicious about a twist sign...haha!

You can't see the rank...hahaha

Group photo! :D

In his dad's car :)

Yourong's turn. He looks like a policeman when he wears it..HAHA!

Yup, that was Daryl's big day! His Officer's Commissioning Ceremony :) Congratulations 2LT Daryl! :D

MIE Reunion + Visit Jill + L4D

After the GP, I headed down to SCHOOL! Not any of my BMTC schools 1 to 4, but to my former school which gave me my highest qualification thus far, Temasek Polytechnic! :D

Met up with my lecturers and friends :D Another wave of nostalgia swept over me as I stepped into my engineering school compound....

Don't know the selit guy on the extreme left, Miss Khoo my MTM lecturer, Chor Seng, Myself, Joan & Guang Yao :D

Same selit guy, Mr Ng (our SIP lecturer), Chor Seng, Joan & Guang Yao :D

Had a great time chatting over lunch with my lecturers and friends...After the lunch session, we went around TP and went to see our club room and our MIE cleanroom! :D Haha.

MIE FTW!! :D Haha

Re-living and reiterating Guang Yao's no-linkness...LOLS!!

Some things never change...HAHAHAHA!

After recce-ing our familiar spots in TP, we headed to Design Canteen for lunch! :D Ok, for afternoon snack...since we ate earlier in the meet up session with our lecturers...haha.

The western food there was still as good and the auntie still looks as young...Haha. And she remembers us! LOLS!

After that we went to visit Jill!! :D Jill's one of our good poly friends too :D She was our club's (Atomic Club) vice-president :D

And if you're wondering what happened to her...her's a little excerpt from her facebook "jaw op" album...

"Since people are beginning to think I got into some accident, I didn't! Haha.. This whole jaw op was the reason I had to wear braces too.

My jaw was super crooked to one side as I grew up. And since the pressure was all on my right side of the jaw, I constantly had headaches and bad migraines throughout my teen years. But I couldn't do anything about it back then cos I was still "growing" and the bones might have shifted even after they op. Thus, I've waited 5 years to do this!!!"

Before we went there we went to buy something for her...we bought her milk and tons of biscuits for ourselves...LOLS!! We were debating over what flavour of the Meiji milk to buy her...LOLS. In the end, we bought both the strawberry and chocolate fresh milk for her...haha.

We then headed to her place and took pictures with her with her macbook :D Her house is really nice and cosy not like the way she describes her house to us. Haha. Was a nice and cosy 3 room flat :D

Take 1 :D

Take 2 :D

Take 3! :D

As you can see, Jill's mouth became really puffy after the operation. Her mouth is sealed, but she can still talk...it'll be like talking with your teeth together but your lips and tongue can still pronounce words. Haha.

Her meals included soups and blended ingredients and all...Poor thing man.

We then played a word board game with her...It's a pirated version of the game "upwords" HAHA!

Guess what? I lost. -__-" To think my command of English is better than Chor Seng & Joan...HAHA! Joan came in first!! Whoa! Ok la, command of English is one thing, getting the right letters to form words is another...HAHA! Joan had the advantage of the latter...haha!

After we finished our game, it was already dark and we're supposed to meet Guang Yao for dinner...so we left :( haha.

On the bus, Joan wanted to take a picture...she kept trying to self-portrait but failed. HAHA! I came to the rescue with my superior cam-whoring skills of holding & aiming the camera at us...HAHA!

Smiling with teeth! :D

Smiling without teeth...You can see that I was having a hard time...HAHAHA!

We arrived at Ang Mo Kio...I think...if not it's Bishan...HAHA! We had dinner at some coffee shop which sold really good western food & claypot rice. It's called Coffee City...haha...Not that I bothered to memorise the coffee shop name but the coffee shop name was photographed...HAHA!

Take 1 :D

Take 2 :D

The western food that Chor Seng ordered took super uber long that even after we're done with our claypot rice, they weren't done with the chicken chop...haha. So we simply left. Haha.

Chor Seng had lots of reserve to draw from, so one meal wouldn't result in starvation. HAHA!

A few more cam-whoring moments before we called it a day...It was Guang Yao's turn to flaunt his cam-whoring skills...haha.

Us :D

Take 2 :D

Just when you thought my day was over...Joel called me to L4D!! HAHAHA! Just nice I was at Khatib MRT station walking to my 969 bus stop to go home when Joel called! LOLS!

So I agreed and met Lebbillie & Yang Cheng at Khatib MRT...LOLS! Lebbillie stays there btw...So Joel's car came & we hopped on to whack L4D!! HAHAHA!

We played until 4am++ -___-" So Joel drove me home...to his home... & I slept overnight & his place...LOLS.

He then fetched me home to bathe and change the next day and fetched me to church...haha! Thanks Joel! :D

Whew, what a long day...I was in my 9div polo T-shirt and cotton-on berms for more than 24 hours!! DUA LAO SAI!! HAHA!

But yeah, really had fun man...did all the things I loved :D Wish everyday were like this :) LOLS!
