Daryl's 21st (cont'd) + a lil' reminiscing...

Here's the rest of the pictures taken at Daryl's 21st birthday :) Taken from Justin's & Daryl's cameras :D Haha.

Me & Zhan Rong playing "Bang!" :D

Jerome, Jonavan & Jeremy...the "J"s! :D Still playing "Bang!"

 Me, Jeremy & Meryl :D I'm such a bright yellow lightbulb...HAHA!

 Yourong & I :D

The photographer was a lil' enthusiastic...take 2. Haha.

I forgot to mention...After Street Fighter-ing, we headed to a kopitiam for supper and to watch soccer -__-" Haha.

Mode of transport? Joel's car. Legal capacity? 5 pax. Present strength? 8 pax.

2 in front, 4 behind...2 in the boot -__-" Who's the 2?

HU LEE YA! These 2! Marc & Myself! Haha.

Lying in the boot wasn't too uncomfortable. The only thing is, it's really HOT! Best part, Marc tried to take a picture of us in the boot...FAIL. Joel's red brake light could barely light up our faces enough to be recognizable on camera...HAHA!

Oh well, after the horrifically humid ride, we reached.

Me, Caleb, Matthew, Yourong & Jon Wee...Joel, Marc & Daryl hiding...haha

Daryl & I :)

Daryl watched soccer until sleep...Power. I don't even follow soccer and I could stay awake watching it. Haha!

Seeing how the players react to the angsty and victorious situations are really entertaining...more entertaining than the gameplay itself. HAHA!

Daryl trying to look awake for this picture...Fail. Haha!

Next morning! :) Woke up to a breakfast of McDonald's! :) Thanks to Aunty Doris, Daryl's mum, we wouldn't have to scavenge for last night's leftovers for breakfast. Haha!

Bathed, freshened up, took a last photo with Daryl...which was kinda rabak. He no more in photo-taking mood liao...No more in his contact lenses so he no mood liao. HAHA!

Me & Daryl :)

Once again, Happy 21st Birthday Daryl! :) It was a fun chalet. :D

Chalets will never be the same man. Compared to last time, we had tons of us chalet-ing together having unreserved (not to the point of reckless) loads of fun.

Nowadays, lesser people stay due to work commitments, relationship commitments, etc...Even if they do stay, we're now all more reserved and have pretty much lost a bit of the familiar connection.

I think this is due to the fact that we haven't have much zone camps, youth camps, etc...recently. All these small camps really bond us together and unite us together not for just fun, but for a common purpose. This focused synergy really built our bonds.

Secondly, many of us have joined other ministries, stepped down, lost commitment and our time spent together ain't like what it used to be last time...Service rehearsals together and going out after that. Service together, go out after that...

With all these convenient meet-ups lost, something's lost too.

Thirdly we all treasure the activity more than the company. L4D! Aiya, don't want la...Play pool! Huh...Watch movie! Huh, that show?

It used to be...L4D! WHOA! Everyone wanna go play...we had trouble selecting the eight people. Watch movie! On la...we commit first, can decide on the movie later...Pool? Steady la...

Fourthly, there's been quite a bit of undercurrent between all of us. Shan't state them explicitly, in fact, shan't state them at all. Haha.

So sad eh? It's more sad to know that I am part of the four causes of this "friendship meltdown".

Ok, I shall stop talking 'bout the good ol' days......I wrote a song about "Why ain't it called the good NEW days" recently. Lols. Really came out of inspiration where I felt God drop me this question. "Shouldn't the future be more promising with me? Why are we then still calling the past 'the good old days'?"

Yup, God may you slowly restore and recreate whatever's been lost and bring us forward! :)

Fattening Week

Last Thursday was Elmer's ORD. His ORD treat to me - A McDonald's breakfast and 3 curry puffs! HU LEE YA!! I was so full I didn't need to eat lunch.

Good Friday, met Meryl & Jeremy after I had a late lunch and snacked massively on "Best Fries Forever", Taiwan chicken chops and Subway cookies...+ sweet drinks.....

Saturday, went to Regina's Pot-luck event at Xiu Hua's house (will blog about it soon). So much awesome food there!! Ate until I almost puked. HAHAHA! Everyone else was around there too...because the food was too good!

Sunday, dinner with parents at hawker centre. Over-ordered all our favourite food. Eat until stomach nearly burst.

Today, BREAK! Whew...

Go back camp and do PT!!!

And yes, I've been faithfully doing my PT for 2 months already. This is so that I can regain my IPPT SILVER!! Still feel really pissed about it when I talk about it...Hais...Haha.

AND, I'll be booking my TP (Traffice Police test - Driving test) soon! :D God lemme pass! :D

Daryl's 21st Birthday! :)

Yet another 21st birthday I attended this month...First was Sherry's, now Daryl's :D Haha.

Daryl's 21st was held at Fairy Point Chalet 7...At Andover Road. It's a really big place and getting there wasn't too bad for me...1 direct bus and 10minutes walk. Haha.

It was a really standard chalet setting...Everyone would just be busy playing their own card games in their own cliques and all...So I went up and played Pictureka with Meryl, Jeremy, Gloria, Yi Nyn, Jasmine Chan, Jonathan Goh and David Ang. :D

One thing I realised in the chalet, Jonathan Goh, Jerilene's brother looks just like Melvin!! HAHA! I have at least 2 people agreeing with me on this. LOLS!

After card gaming a while, I went down and mingled a bit with his OCS friends, helping them set up the fire for the BBQ.

Next was dinner! :) Makan-ed and chatted with my old church mates...It's been quite some time since I've met some of them.
Then, I went up and played "Bang!" with Meryl, Jeremy, Zhan Rong & Jerome Leong :) Haha. I love bang!!

Me & Zhan Rong :)
Jeremy, Meryl, Me, Zhan Rong and Jerome Leong

Yourong, Me & Xiao Hua :)

Yourng, Jon Wee & Myself :)

All of us! :) See the guy on the left of Marc (the guy holding the knife)? That's NOT Melvin! It's Jonathan Goh!! HAHA! Look like Melvin right?? LOLS!

Cherie & Myself :)

Yes, I stayed over. I love stay-overs! :) I love playing games overnight and HT-HTing late into the night :) Haha.

After trashing them all at Street Fighter IV, we played PES duno what year on Marc's PS3. That's where they got back their glory after their bruises during Street Fighter IV. HAHA!

After bathing and settling down, I showed Matthew & Marc a new song I wrote recently called "All You Want Me to Do" :)

God dropped this song in my heart as I was worshiping last week. It was a really powerful and it's-been-so-long-since-I-encountered-Him encounter.

That's another blog post altogether. I will blog that soon :)

So yup, got a chance to share my testimony with Matthew & Marc. Wanted to share it with Jon Wee & Daryl too, but they were far too tired to entertain me. HAHA!

Yup, that's about all for Daryl's birthday party :)

There are many more pictures still stuck in Daryl's & Justin's camera and my camera which have yet to be uploaded. So stay tuned! HAHA!

Happy 21st Birthday Daryl Deary! :)

POP LO! 9th April 2011

Yet another passing out parade I'm attending...Haha. This is the 2nd GP @ Marina Bay Floating Platform that I'm attending.

The difference is, this time round, I didn't attend the whole parade. I went after everything was over, find my friends, take pictures and went shopping with Daryl & Marc. Haha!

Previously, I went early in the morning at around 8am and sat through the whole thing...you can look at my previous post on that...Ok, I didn't sit through the whole thing, I went around finding all my friends. Haha.

Yup, this time round, I had 4 church mates & 1 cousin POP-ing, thus I went. Donovan Loh, Ken Lok, Royston Ong, Percy Toh were passing out. And of course my dear cousin Jethro. You can see my pictures with them at their Direct Enlistment exercises. Haha. Ok, most of the pictures are still stuck in their respective cameras. Lols.

This time, I went a little too late...Late until Jethro and Ken left first. Haha! Only Ken & Royston mingled around long enough for my arrival. Haha!

Yup, here's the pictures :)

PTE Donovan, 3SG Jonavan & PTE Royston :) Haha.

Take 2 :D

Me & Don :)

They've all gotten their postings already! Haha. Donovan, expected la...went to Officer Cadet School (OCS). A valedictorian from NUS High not going to OCS is a waste. Haha.

Ken Lok also went to OCS. Another smart brat from Raffles Institution...Haha.

Jethro, my cousin, is posted to SCS (Specialist Cadet School)

Congrats to you all! :) All in command school. Haha. Just don't OOC...HAHA!

Final 2 pictures with some of the people I work with in HQ BMTC...

Leslie, Me & Melvin :)

Leslie untagged himself in this picture in facebook! HAHAHA! For fear of getting into trouble with MSD. LOLS. I don't think there's much of a problem though. Haha. What international secrets are leaked with 3 young punks smiling away at the camera? LOLS.

Me & 3SG Act Cool...HAHA! Paul Ooi...

I didn't recognize this act cool guy walking toward me from far...Upon closer introspection, I realized he's my dear Christian brother in camp...Haha. He never fails to send me stuff about Christianity through OA account and invite me to his Christian meetings and all...Haha. Holy guy la...LOLS!

Yup, yet another Graduation Parade. I have one more GP to go before I become an Operationally Ready Soldier! :) HAHAHA! Onward to ORD! :D

Friday 15 April 2011

BBQ @ Melvin Tay's place :D

Had my first outing with my CG (connect group) last Tuesday (5/4/2011) at Melvin Tay's place. His house is super near Haw Par Villa...At first didn't know where that is, now I know...haha.

Melvin's house is BIG! He has his own private BBQ pit and a 4 storey house! Haha. Upon stepping in, the first thing I noticed was a few statues of Buddha and all...I then found out that his dad is a Buddhist and his mum a free thinker.

The outing was a very standard, informal gathering where everyone just gathers and watch TV, play cards while the manly group goes to start the fire and get everything going.

I belong to the "play card" group. LOLS! Haha!

Monopoly Deal is still very much in "fashion" here in Heart of God church. I've grown bored of playing this game man. Played it so many billion times with my Bethel mates already...HAHA! But then again, it's not about the game right? The game is just a catalyst, a platform to make knowing each other easy.

Desmond, Wesley & Myself Monopoly-Dealing...

Sabrina & Chi Wen :)

The most popular photo in this whole outing...Yong An in his hum sup position...caught by Sabrina using my camera...haha.

Of course, I also went out to the BBQ area to snap a few photos...before going back to my card game lair...ahaha.

Back at the card game lair, we were all peacefully playing our card games when suddenly those at the BBQ pit started shouting "FIRE!"

We all rushed out to see what the commotion was about....and this is what we saw.

-__-"

Here we have the culprit posing...Haha!

Just a small fire. LOLS. We then went out to makan.

C7 + C70! Ok, not even half of them are in this picture...LOLS.

After whacking up all the food, we were all still hungry! So we took a lil' walk to buy pizza! :)

Pizzzzaaaa! :)

Yup, had a great time carding and randomly chatting with different people. I feel so old there. All of them are like 15,16-20. Those 20 and above are very few...Haha.

Also got to know Melvin much better. He's a really nice, sweet, straight-forward guy. Even while buying pizza, he reminded us not to buy pizza with beef because we got a few Buddhist friends in our midst. What a guy. Haha.

Now I don't see him as the usual keep-to-himself, quiet kinda guy, he's actually quite articulate. He just doesn't initiate the convos. Haha.

Well, I hope I'll get to know more peeps and hopefully find a real good friend who really understands me and shares the same heartbeat for God.

Thanks Melvin for opening your place! :)

Sherry's 21st Slumber Party! :)

It's Sherry's 21st Birthday! :) She celebrated her birthday 2 weeks in advance, on Sunday, 3rd April. Her birthday party ain't any ordinary birthday party, it's a slumber party! :) So everyone came in their pajamas! :D Haha!

I brought mine! But I didn't wear it until I was gonna sleep...Yes, I stayed over. But because it's a Sunday, many people couldn't stay-over :(

Anyway, here's what happened...

First, we played games :) First game is charades, just that we have to use a soft toy to act out the word or phrase! Haha. We played using the Taboo cards. :D

Here's a snapshot of Abigail using the stuffed toy to convey the phrase...

Don't you love their pajamas? Haha!

Next we played a drawing game...There are 5 people in a group, lined up in a straight line with backs facing each other. The game master will then tell the first person what to draw. The first person then has 15seconds to draw whatever he/she's been told and show the next person, who will do the same...until the last person...The last person will guess what the word is from looking at the last drawn picture! :D Haha! Cool eh?

This means if the 2nd or 3rd person interpreted the picture wrongly and draws it wrongly...gone case. Haha! That's what happened to all the groups!

The losing team will be sprayed with a water gun by a member of the other team...haha!

Here's the few best snapshots of us in action...

Abigail with her frantic smile as she scrutinizes Jadyn's photo...Haha!

Cheryl with utmost artistic poise, grinning at her artwork. Haha!

Guess who won? MY TEAM!! :D :D :D I was the first artist! Haha. The object was an electric fan.

My awesome drawing is captured on someone else's camera...but basically, all who saw it, got it. Thus the victory! HAHA! I can be an artist after all!! HAHAHA!

Next up, was the best-dressed award ceremony! Haha. Those shortlisted by the judges (Sherry's 2 aunties! :D) will have to do a lil' performance; a catwalk to strut their pajamas and the rest will vote in the winner! Haha.

I forgot who the winner was but here's a few of the shortlisted contestants...

Jadyn in her giraffe pajamas...To me, it was more of a costume than a pajama...I'm sure she doesn't wear this to sleep! HAHA!

Qiuling showing some seductive moves....hahaha

The most indecent, controversial and simply DUA LAO SAI-ish pajama outfit...a super short Mickey Mouse boxers by Aaron Tan! During the catwalk, he slipped his hand into his ass!! Ultra DLS!! HAHAHA!

After all the commotion, people started to leave :( That's when we also started taking pictures :D

Kenwee, Sherry & Myself :)

Andrina, Sherry, Abigail & Myself :D

Me & Johan :)

Me & the birthday girl :D

Me & the birthday girl again...with her birthday decorations :D

The stayover was awesome! Her friends were really friendly...and some really pretty. AHAHA!

We played Saboteur, monopoly deal and sang through the night. I only died on my bed at 5am. Haha.

The bad thing about sleeping late is...the next morning I woke up, I was too tired to check if I left anything behind...since I already packed my bag the day before.

So I simply went back and to my horror, I left my toiletries bag there! My $70 shaver, toothbrush and braces toothbrush was left there!!!!

I called the reception and informed them of my leaving of belongings behind twice, but they never responded.

I doubt they even bothered to go back and check la...What a sad ending! :( HAHA!

Anyway, I had a lot of fun there, knowing people and all...

Yup, Happy 21st Birthday Sherry! :)
