Joel's Farewell Chalet

It's chalet time!! WHOO HOO! :D It's been soooo long since we've had our last chalet man! Really miss hanging out & going crazy at night with you guys :) This chalet was also really fun...but it was no longer the same...Marc & Edward wasn't there compared to the 1st chalet we had together :) haha. O well...apart from the people...

This chalet is ALSO VERY DIFFERENT from the other chalets we stayed in before. The first thing I screamed when Jon Wee, Anne & myself stepped into the chalet was "WHERE'S THE AIRCON?!?!" To our horror, the pathetic chalet really had no AIRCON!! -__-" To make things worse, on the 2nd day, the whole place ran out of water...so we all had to use the public toilets -___-" Win liao...Even SAF bunks are better now... Haha! But the chalet had a beautiful sea-side view which sort of made up for all the shortcomings...HAHA!

Ok, before I go on rattling away about the whole event messily, let me chronologically go through the series of events :)

If you're still wondering what chalet we stayed in...We stayed in Ubin Lodge...An outfield UO (FIBUA) urban campsite...HAHAHA! :D it's in Pulau Ubin (I think the name says it all...but this bracketed info is for the blur & dumb. Heh :D)

Topping up the list of why this chalet is so DIFFERENT is its accessibility. For those sua-kus who's never been to Ubin, you need to get there by bum boat (it's overseas?) haha. The bum boat requires 12 people on board before the "sailor" will be willing to leave, lest the fuel price is not fully maximised. Unless you pay him $30, he will not leave until there is 12 people who will pay $2.50 each.

So, our first time going in was ok...The second time Jon Wee & I tried to go in....we waited @ the ferry terminal for more than an hour before another 10 people came!! -__-" Thankfully, I had my laptop with me and the waiting area had a power point for my laptop :D HAHA! So we both sat there & played Reinforced-Little Fighter until there was enough people! :D HAHA!

And if you've seen Anne's album "$2.50 trips" on facebook, she said "Jonavan said 'wahseh, $2.50, must take enough photos to make our money worth!'" So yeah...in response to the $2.50 rides, we spammed photos...here are the few nicer ones :D HAHA!

Jon Wee, Anne & Myself dangerously posing on the bum boat :D

Anne & Myself :)

On the bum boat :D My self-portraitin skills improved by at least 60% after this boat ride. HAHA! :D

Upon reaching the chalet, we monopoly dealed...Standard ah. Haha! Upon Jon Wee's & my return @ around 6pm++ we watched "Sherlock Holmes" the movie on my lappy :D Ok, I watched...Jon Wee watched halfway. Haha. Halfway through the movie, Anne, Eunice Chua, Zi Hui & Yourong arrived :D And guess what we did? MONOPOLY DEAL! :D Haha.

Next morning I was awoken by Melvin's tickling -__-" Haha. Had our changi village Nasi Lemak & guess what we did? Not monopoly deal this time! We went cycling! :D

Melvin & myself :)
Me & Joel :D

I thought cycling was easy...but when it came to long distances and gentle slopes, it killed all of our thigh muscles! HAHAHA! The slopes aren't all that steep...it was simply an uphill slope of 2-3 degree angle and it could kill us already! Now I know that those athletes that cycle those unfriendly terrains have really good thigh muscles man. HAHA!

After our short cycling trip, we went for lunch @ some restaurant. There we ordered our "Zi Char" and guess what? We monopoly dealed THERE! HAHAHA! We're hardcore addicts man. LOLS! :D

Joel, Melvin & Myself :) Melvin's tryin' to act cute...Haha. Ok la, my darling's pretty cute :D HAHA!

Melvin, Myself & Yourong :D

After lunch we wanted to cycle to Chek Jawa, but it was high tide, so we headed back to our chalet to chill first before setting out again to catch the low tide :D Guess what we did back @ the chalet? You guessed it! MONOPOLYYY DEALLL!! :D HAHA!

Ok la, apart from that, we videoed everyone's good bye message to Joel. So while a few of us dealed with Joel, the rest of us would sneak away and do the video :D Haha! And halfway through dealing, Joel went to the parapet, sat down & emo-ed. We also videoed that down! HAHAHA! & added our goodbye message to that sneak shot :D LOLS! Later Zi Hui went to console him la... :D

After that, we set out for Chek Jawa on our bicycles! But without our umbrellas -__-" Just when we were all about to conquer the wild side of Ubin, it rained      -_______-" But that didn't deter us from exploring Chek Jawa...Our solution...

Yourong, Me, Xiuling, Yining, Melvin & Zi Hui in our body-sized, colourful trash bags. HAHA! :D

$1.50 trash bags that are shaped to fit your body. HAHA!

This "raincoat" made it rain not only on the outside, but also on the inside...We also rained perspiration. The material simply made us sweat like mad la...Haha.

Sweaty Joel & Myself :D

This is the place where we parked our bikes and went on foot for the rest of the journey :D And upon our return, guess what? Zi Hui's bike was taken by some blur cock. -_-" So in the end, she took my bicycle and I took another person's bicycle. Haha.

Zihui, Joella & Myself after about 30mins of cycling :D

Finally, we reached our destination...which wasn't all that fulfilling...but still better than nothing. Haha. You can check our "outfield" video with Joel @ Chek Jawa on facebook :D

L4D!! :D Yining suggested we took a pic here since it looked like the L4D bloodharvest map...After taking, we realised that it does look like it...When photoshopped with our imagination. HAHA! Ok la, got a bit of resemblance la :D LOLS!
On the bridge above the swampy grounds...

All of us on the bridge :)

@ the Jetty :D

Still there...Haha.

Cycling back halfway we found a nice lake :D

We then returned and BBQ-ed & monopoly dealed & CITADELed the night away :)

Joel getting his hands dirty while starting the fire :D

Daryl reached! :)

So did 2Lt Matthew :D haha.

Oh before we citadel-ed, we did a surprise ambush on Joel :D Joel, Matthew & myself went to the public toilet to bathe...If you don't remember, I mentioned that the whole chalet compound ran out of water because it's water source is a pathetic well -_-" So, we had to go to the public toilet to bathe -.-" Anyway, this turned out to be a good thing because while we were there bathing, the rest were here preparing the video & all...So he came back and *SURPRISE* :D

Haha. We then prayed for him and continued with our board game frenzy...Oh and the soccer freaks turned on the TV to watch the match between Germany & Uruguay.

After my 2 games of Citadel with yining & yourong, I went to bed. :D After tossing & turning, Daryl & I decided to watch a movie on my lappy...Haha. So we turned on the movie "The International" and the movie turned us off. Haha!

So off we went back to sleep. LOLS!!

This the worst part of the chalet for myself & I think, for the rest too. @ 4am I woke up to the churning of my stomach...So I quickly rushed to the toilet & dua lao sai-ded. Haha! Remember what I said earlier? The whole chalet compound had no water supply. That means the toilet bowl can't be flushed. That means the DUA LAO SAI will be FLOATING around in the toilet bowl!! HAHAHA! Thank God we were checking out the next morning man! HAHAHAHA! :D

So yeah, that was our lil' farewell chalet for Joella :D

Will really, really miss you Joel! :(
