Reporting LIVE in SISPEC :D

Guess where I'm typing this post from? PASIR LABA CAMP... -_-" I'm in camp using their "com-lab" now...HAHA!

It's our nights out actually...but citing the fact that I didn't bring much $$, ATM card and because they let us out late, I decided to stay in camp and use the com...HAHA!

Anyway, the start of this week was really bad...Why? Right on the first day of the week (Monday) we had our usual 3km run with our OC (Officer Commanding, i.e. principal in the school context) The only difference was, this time, it was raining! It wasn't that heavy at first, but as we jogged, the rain got heavier until it became a horrendous downpour!

When the rain was too heavy, we'll usually fall out and stop whatever activities...But our OC didn't allow that! While jogging we ran past another company's OC in a rover who shouted at all of us to return to company line...So we all went back to coy line only to get shouted at by our OC "WHO TOLD YOU ALL TO COME BACK?! GET BACK AND JOG!!" Whoa...I would've slapped him if not the consequences I'd face thereafter...HAHA!

After the whole thing he continued to lecture us for 15mins++ IN THE RAIN..."In a war when it rains you all stop fighting ar?! Rain only you all chabo!" and he went on about obeying and abiding by the proper chain of command and how we should have checked back with him for permission to fall back into coy line etc...

What a way to start the week...with our running shoes SOAKED and clothes DRIPPING WET.

O well, I hope during field camp our OC won't be such a demon. HAHA! And by the way, our OC's vocation is....GUARDS. No wonder the training style...haha.

I'm also pretty disappointed today because we had our Chemical Defense training...where we had to put on chemical defense suits (MOPP 4) to enter into the smoke chamber. HOWEVER, because of my childhood asthmatic history, I wasn't allowed to enter!!

All my bunkmates came out crying and their mucus were rivulet-ing out of their nostrils while all I could ask was "How was it?" Haha! I'm really sad cos I didn't get to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime event...where else will you dress up like it's in North pole when you're in Singapore and get chemical warfare training? haha.

O well, I pray that the rest of this week will go well :D My field camp is next week btw...So do keep me in prayer! :D Haha.

Back to bunk :D

1st corporate prayer meeting of 2010! :)

It has been a looooooonnnnnnnggggggg time since I had a time of prayer and worship with my besties. And after so long, we finally managed to meet up to pray and worship :) Regina & I clocked 3 hours of prayer time :) Wow. Anyway...

Right after lunch on Vision Sunday, Abigail, Anna, Regina and myself headed to the prayer room to thank God for the past year and pray for what we wanna see happen in this year :)

We shared our reflections and prayed. Before Abigail & Anna left, I shared my frustrations and spiritual blockade and what I'm going through.

After they left, Regina & I stayed on and prayed for another hour. That was when I had an encounter with God. AFTER SO LOOONNNGG!! I was just telling God my frustration - Why am I not hearing from You and receiving from You as i did before? Why are You hiding? Why are You silent? Why can't I hear you like last time? I'm tired trying to find You...

I was praying all these out when I began to break and that's when Regina shared the word God dropped her:

God is not hiding, He is just still. God wants me to seek Him in a different and deeper way and He will likewise reveal Himself to me in a different and deeper way.

I was mollified. A different dimension of seeking Him...I guess I shall continue to seek God in a different way. How? I don't know, but I will figure it out as I empty my heart :)

Thank You Jesus :)

To my besties :D

Just wana say thanks for sticking by all these years :) Without you guys, life would have been so much more boring. Haha.

Thanks for lending your ears to me as much as I've lent mine
Thanks for your encouraging advice as much as I've said mine
Thanks for hanging out with me when you had the time
Thanks for all the care showered as much as I've showered mine
Thanks for everything my friend for life would've been a mime

That's an impromptu one...Haha! So yup, your friendship is always greatly appreciated :)

AND, some of you I observe don't really like the idea of praying with me...HAHA! That saddens me. :( I wana let you know that I treasure prayer times together more than our HTHT sessions at some cosy cafe or our movie-ing or LAN-ing times at some cybercafe or shopping sessions at some big mall.

I'm not saying we shouldn't do the latter, but we shouldn't leave out the former.

Many things close to my heart that I wana share with you guys are often not really sharable in the outside environment. And I believe that as we share our stuffs with each other in the presence of God, there will be more than just verbally releasing the burden, but there will be more emotional release and healing too :D

It's just an observation I had. Cos talking and bitching doesn't help to change anything, but doing that in an environment where we are conscious of God will bring about more change. Trust me, I've done it before and found it more fruitful :)

So yup, hope to see us having more prayer sessions together this year :) We shall chat this out too :) <3

Year 2010, Day 2

My morning of the 2nd day of this new year was filled with 3S - SISPEC, Sergeants and Sweat...I was in camp doing RT (Remedial Training)!! We did speed training...so we simply ran and sprint under the supervision of the fitness sergeants...What a way to start day 2 of this year...HAHA!

Anyway, after that me and a few of my bunkmates - Glenn, Paul, Joseph, Scott, Jian Xiong - went to play L4D2 & Modern Warfare 2! :D We played at the biggest cybercafe in Singapore - Colesseum at Bugis Illuma. haha. Was really fun :)

After that was our fish4men thanksgiving get together! :) It was a BBQ held at Uncle Dax's place :) We chit-chatted, played games, had a short time of testimony and resolution sharing and a short informal sharing by Cai Jie :D

The atmosphere in fish4men is always so open, inviting and engaging, unlike my other ministry gatherings. They're also more open and ready when talking about spiritual stuffs. I really wonder why. And I really wonder how I can change that.

So yup, ate and ate and ate these past few days...I hope I'll manage to get a SILVER AWARD this coming thursday!! :) For those reading this, do keep me in prayer! :)

First few moments of New Year!

Year 2010 has finally arrived! :)

After our countdown in church we - Me, Matthew, Daryl, Yourong, Anne, Zi Hui, Yining, Xiuling, Eunice, Caleb, David and Percy went to Joel's place for an overnight BBQ! :)

We had a great time eating...especially eating. Haha! At night we had a sing-song session with all of us figuring out the different vocal parts (i.e. SATB)

Also had a short chat with mainly Yining & Zi Hui about the upcoming youth events which I'll be organising :) I hope this year God will begin to do a more visible and measurable work through us Youth Alive! :)

Yup...pictures...

Daryl & Me w/ a violin! :D

Joel & Me w/ his violin :D

If you're wondering where are the girls in the picture...that's firstly because anne & xiuling left because Anne was feeling feverish and Xiuling accompanied her :D

Secondly, Yining, Zi Hui & Percy went to take DRIVING LESSONS from (non-licensed) INSTRUCTOR JOEL! HAHA! Upon their return, my camera was already kept...haha.

Overall, it was a fun sleepover...Could've been much more interactive & fruitful if we all played a board game or had a new year worship session or something. Haha...Anyways, Thanks Joel for opening your place! :D

At 1600 hours I met up with Meryl, Anna, Abigail & Jeremy @ Jeremy's place to play Munchkins...That was the initial plan...until we realised that Abigail overslept our meeting time by 2 hour 30mins! Haha...And you thought guys were the only pigs...HAHAHAHA! :D :D Just kiDdinG abi :D

The problem with this meeting is that I had to leave by 7pm...so after chatting, playing Bridge and circle of death with Anna, Meryl & Jeremy, we had pizza and I had to leave :( Stupid RT!!

Anyway, do check out the forfeit photos & videos of Meryl & Jeremy when we played Circle of Death!! :D HAHAHA! Anna & Jeremy will upload it on facebook soon :D Haha...

Yup, so to all who are examining / reading / browsing / judging my blog...HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010! :) Haha. May you allow God to permeate every moment of your 2010! :)
