Bali Holiday! :D

Yes, 9th to 13th June was a little family retreat for all of us :) We're always so busy studying, working and trying to achieve something greater than what we already have that sometimes we forget to stop, take a break and do a lil' stock check.

Anyway, this trip has been fun. Spending time with the people that you see everyday and with the people whom will always be your pillar of support no matter what happens.

This time I am seriously TOO LAZY to chronologically arrange the photos. Blogspot should like have a picture arranger programme or something like that man...I think that's not implemented because they're not bloggers and don't know the pains of chronologically arranging 100+ photos. Haha.

If you're wondering which part of Bali we went, we spent the 1st half of the trip in Jimbaran and the other half in Nusa Dua.

Basically our itinerary is like this:
Day 1 to 3 was spent in Ayana Hotel at Jimbaran Bay. We went to Jimbaran Beach to have dinner and enjoyed the hotel facilities surrounded by a breathtaking yet tranquil view of the sea. We also visited some temple by the sea that was monkey-infested.

Day 4 to 5 was spent in Marriott Courtyard hotel. The thing about Marriott Hotel is that they have a private beach specially for hotel guests! So of course we paid the beach a visit and went around eating the local fare.

Yup, the pictures are not in order. If you want it chronological, go to my mum's Facebook photo album and it's all chronological there. Haha.

Upon arrival at Ayana Hotel, we were garland-ed and I had to answer the call of nature. I must say, the toilets were too good not to take photos of! LOL! I also took photos because I was hiding in the toilet...haha.

The story behind it is...we only booked 2 rooms and each room has a maximum capacity of 2. And we're a family of 5! So I became the phantom family member and appeared only after the hotel keys were drawn. HAHA!
Toilet-shot
The awesome toilet...and my awesome face...LOL!
The bedroom in Ayana Hotel! :D
Yes the hotel rooms were AWESOME!! It had a balcony with a magnificent view of the golf course's landscape. The rooms were huge! 1 room can comfortably accommodate 3 people...contrary to what the hotel limits it to...HAHA!

Me sitting on the bed in Ayana Resort's Hotel Room :D
The picture below is the Rock Bar. This hotel is famous for it. It has a bar by the sea! More than that, it also has a restaurant and a swimming pool by the sea! As you go along you'll see the beautiful facilities that this resort has :D

Jerina & I at the Rock Bar :D At Ayana Hotel
Dinner at Jimbaran Beach! :)
This is one of the highlights of our journey at Ayana Hotel. We drove out to find a nice place for dinner and find one we did. However, being a tourist attraction, prices were not that good. Haha...The food was only average...No biggie. For the price we paid, it could've been better.

Rows of shops offering you dinner by the beach!
This is one busy beach with tons of people feasting by its shores!
Ok this shot is back in Ayana Hotel. Haha. After a good swim we went to play pool. The pool table was just beside the swimming pool. Here we have the fusion of 2 pools - swimming pool and pool table...HAHA!

Playing pool after coming out of the swimming pool...LOL!
There are 2 swimming locations in Ayana Resort by the way. One is not by the sea, one is by the sea. The swimming pool by the sea is slightly more inaccessible. You have to take something like a cable car ride to get there...

The ride downward to the Rock Bar and Rock Pool :)
Jeravan and myself in the "cable car"

That's the interesting part about the place. After the ride, we are at beach level...same level as the Rock Bar, Rock Pool and the Restaurant :D So here are a few photos of the swim at Rock Pool :D

Mummy :D
Yes the guy lying upside down with his legs up is me...HAHA! The guy on the right is Jeravan. :D
Me & Jeravan in the Rock Pool :)
A view of the rock pool :D
One of Ayana's Resort's restaurants :)
Massage area...or something...haha
Isn't it pretty? The facilities there really make use of the elements of nature such as water, trees, flowers, etc...to create a real peaceful setting.

The picture below is upon arrival at Ayana Resort. Haha. Remember, this post isn't chronological. HAHA! A picture of the 3 of us at the water fountain :D

Jeravan, Jerina & Myself at the water fountain :D
I cannot help but notice the "awesome" sculpture at the fountain. I don't know if it was a failed attempt or they wanted to portray a certain level of melancholy through the sculpture...

A really sad lion! HAHAHAHA!
Oh, the picture below is me eating a bowl of Mee Bakso noodles :D This is their local fare...something like a our mee pok in Singapore. Just that ours is like 20x nicer. HAHA!

Mee Bakso is a noodle soup dish with tons of vegetables, crispy wanton and meatballs. The wanton really was just crispy flour bites and the meatballs were just a ball of flour rolled and boiled. Haha! The taste came from the soup and coupled with the chilli, the dish was still not too bad. Haha. The thing is, one bowl costs like 50cents? Haha!

Me posing with my Mee Bakso meatball :)
These noodles were sold like everywhere in these carts. Sometimes we wonder how clean the dish is...Haha! Oh well, I'm still typing this post right? LOL!

This is another beach...Tanjong Benoa jetty.
The cool thing about this beach is they had para-sailing. It involves a person going on a parachute tied to a boat and the boat will pull you around in your parachute! It's a good superhero moment that doesn't come cheap. You get to fly for only 1 to 2 minutes? And it costs around S$15 if I remember correctly. Haha

Jeravan & I...Can you see the para-sailor in the background toward the top left of the picture? Yeah, that's para-sailing :D

The restaurant at Rock Pool
Yes we're back at the Rock Pool at Ayana Resort. The picture above is taken at the restaurant by the sea :) A second shot was taken (below) to show that the pole I'm standing beside is BURNING!! HAHAHA! It's a lamp la basically. Haha.

Me at the Rock Pool Restaurant :D
Me & Jeravan sitting on the hotel's buggy...Taken at the entrance :D
This is our last destination actually...We went souvenir shopping...haha
Seashell lamps!! SO PRETTY!!!
Pictured above is the seashell lamps!! They put all the seashells together and place a lamp inside and whoa-lah! A beautiful beside lamp is made! This is actually at our last destination...we went to some souvenir shop 2 photos up...haha!

The picture below is at Marriott Courtyard's private beach for guests! :) They even have a nice van to drive hotel guests to and from the beach :D Yes, it's quite a distance away from the hotel. Unlike Ayana Resort, the beach is quite far from the hotel rooms.

Me posing with a bag of Cassava chips which we enjoyed by the beach :)
Us at Marriott Hotel's private beach :D
Take 2 with Daddy as the photographer...haha

Lunch at some deserted zi-char restaurant
The picture above is our lunch session at some road side local zi-char restaurant. The food was average and so was the price. But this was the only restaurant with parking lots so we ended up there. HAHA!

The whole restaurant was empty. No sound of cooking, no cooks present...Only after we ordered then did we hear the kitchen start...HAHAHA!

The next few photos below are taken at the Uluwatu temple, a major attraction in Bali...I don't know why...I guess it's because the temple is located by the sea...Haha.

Before we went a lot of people told my mum that the temple is monkey-infested and that some of the monkeys are trained to steal your spectacles.

Well, our uncle is one victim. The monkey took his spectacles and he paid the temple people to get it back and they returned him a maimed, broken pair of spectacles...HAHA! So much for paying to get it back eh? LOL!

So when we went there, mummy was telling us to watch out for monkeys and to hold on to our spectacles. Hold onto it we did, like weirdos...HAHAHA!

The Lee Family in sarongs :D HAHA!
If you're wondering why we're draped in sarongs, it's because we were all wearing shorts. As a sign of respect and modesty, we had to wear sarongs to enter the temple. And the sarongs didn't come free -.-" So to me, the sarongs were more of a form of extortion rather than respect and modesty...haha!
Posing for a shot in the temple :D
Take 2 :)
Now you can see that the temple is by the sea :)
Let me bring to your attention the stick in my right hand and the big rock in Jeravan's hand...Yes we were armed to ward off monkeys if they come to near us and try to take our spectacles...HAHAHA!

I think we were the most violent family around there. I was brandishing my stick and we were throwing stones at monkeys throughout the journey...HAHA! Instead of them terrifying and taking our spectacles, we were terrifying them and taking away their peace...LOL!

Us again and I'm still holding the stick and Jeravan, his rock...haha
Ok now the pictures lead us to Marriott Courtyard's swimming pool :) The facilities were really nice and scenic too. But it was nice and scenic in a more urban way compared to Ayana resort.

Me & Jerina at Marriott's swimming pool
3 of us by the pool :D
Yup, still by the swimming pool...haha
Still at the swimming pool...haha.
The next 2 pictures are me posing for mummy's camera at Marriott Courtyard's hotel room's balcony :) Our rooms had a lovely view of the pool :D

Enjoying the room's view :D
Standing up pose...LOL!
And the pictures lead us back once again to Ayana Resort! LOL! Non-chronological posts are pretty interesting too eh? Bring you back and forth...hahaha!

Jerina & I getting charmed by the sound of the crashing waves
Playground in Ayana Resort...haha
Our Ayana Resort hotel room view of the golf course
Yes, the balcony is this comfy, perfected by a calm, natural ambience brought about by the golf course :)
Beautiful, scenic landscapes in Ayana Resort :)
The Ayana swimming pool...the one not by the beach..haha
The pretty flora exhibited in Ayana Resort :)

Bridal Glass Pavilion
Yes they have a lil' church-like structure there which they name "Bridal Glass Pavilion". It's a fully glassed building that lets you see the outside from inside...Haha. A really nice place to get married.

Mummy & Jerina at some walkway in Ayana's vast land area :D
Another shot of the awesome Rock Pool @ Ayana Resort :D
A shot of the Rock Bar from the "cable car"..haha

Take 2 :)
A few wallpaper shots try-outs in Ayana Resort...haha
Still trying to get a nice wallpaper from Ayana Resort...haha
Another wallpaper try-out at the Rock Pool :D haha..
Jerina at the Rock Pool...yes they had these huge mattresses by the pool for you to relax on :D

Another wallpaper try-out at rock pool...haha
Mummy getting irritated with Jeravan cos she wanted a shot of herself only...hahaha
And she managed to chase Jeravan away...but not totally...His hand is still inside...LOL
And we're back at Marriott Courtyard! HAHA! Here's a view of our hotel room :) Yes we reached there in the evening :)
The room view in Marriott Courtyard :D
A view of the balcony from behind the transparent door :D
View of the balcony without the glass door...haha...I'm like doing a science experiment to see how much light the glass door reflects light...LOL!
Jerina & I posing for mummy...haha
Water leakage at the light
A few problems we encountered at Marriott Courtyard...When we arrived, our room was undergoing a little repair work and we had to wait a few hours before our room was ready.

After that, as I was relieving myself - big business - suddenly the light splurt water out. I got a shock of my life..."How can a halogen light in the toilet spray water??" was my first thought. I thought it was some kinda spiritual attack! LOL!

I came to my senses and my intellect told me that it was probably a pipe leakage...hahaha...Anyway, for these 2 incidents we went to ask for some compensation during out meal time and we got 20% off our bill! Below is a picture of our awesome dinner at Marriott Courtyard's restaurant :)

Dinner time! At Marriott Courtyard :)

The food served was really good! Yes it was kinda expensive compared to the roadside food prices but the food quality was really UP THERE. We ate to our heart's content..haha!

Yup below is a few more shots of the awesome, more urban landscape showcased in Marriott Courtyard...

Balcony view of the pool :)
Another balcony shot :)
A pool, ground level shot of the swimming pool :D
Take 2 :D A bit distorted though...haha...You can see the tree trunk on the right is wavy...LOL!
The 2 pictures below are shots of an interesting sculpture along the road on the way back...It's like some sculpture of a warrior fighting enemies on a chariot or something like that. An interesting sculpture you don't see on Singapore roads...haha!

Sculpture take 1
Take 2 :D
Yup, that was Bali...And I didn't mention that the McDonald's there is really cheap and they serve Chicken rice! Ok, more like fried chicken with rice...Haha. The McDonald's there also serve Chicken porridge! LOL! It was really good..haha.

All in all, the trip was a really lazy one...as always...Haha. Ok, not for the past fishing trips though...haha. Had a fantastic time enjoying the peaceful, azure sea and swimming in the Rock Pool is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. What I experienced was so surreal, something we don't get to enjoy back here in busy Singapore.

Once again, the beauty of nature simply made my heart cry out that there is a God, a really beautiful One that made all these. That speechless cry of wonder and amazement just overflows whenever the sound of the crashing waves charms my soul. The refreshing sea breeze that siphons through my hair, warmed by the eastern sun never fails to remind me that there's a Creator who made all these.

This Bible verse just came to mind as I adore His creation...

Psalm 8:3 “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place, what is man that You are mindful of him, the son of man that You care for him?”

In spite of all these beautiful landscapes and scenery, nothing is more beautiful than us - humans, the epitome of beauty...for we are crafted in God's image :)

Thank You God for giving us the ability to stand in awe to be in wonder...for without this ability, life would be so much less meaningful. Life would be so bleak and purposeless if all nature and cosmos were a result of a random big-bang.

So thank You God for being You! :)

Emceed for EEE Tea Reception 2012 :)

This is the 1st NTU event I emceed for during my holidays! :) Emceed for Pumpfest2012 and will be emceeing for the upcoming event - College of Engineering orientation :)

If you're wondering how I got these lobangs...I actually went to audition for the College of Engineering orientation emcee post. They sent out a mass email to all the engineering students and I went...and I GOT IT! :D HAHA!

So that was for the College of Engineering orientation...The staff who picked me to be the emcee actually recommended me to the EEE Tea Reception team. So that's how I managed to get the emcee post for the EEE Tea Reception :D

I never knew that when I opened one door, that door opens up to many other doors...haha! I was actually hesitating going for the emcee audition because I thought "There probably is so many better emcees out there that would've went to audition...I wouldn't wanna waste my time auditioning and not getting it..." But, in my "just try la" attitude, I simply went and whoa-lah...I pocketed a good $105 bucks! :D HAHAHA!

The thing about the EEE tea reception I emceed for is...I didn't even know I was gonna get paid! LOL! When they told me the pay was $15/hr my eyes opened wide and I was glad I went ahead for the audition :)

Yup, the tea reception is organized to welcome potential EEE students enrolling in the next semester. Those invited are already accepted into NTU. I saw a few of my juniors in army there...Adi and Aaron Chay were 2 of 'em :D Haha.

The tea reception was held at Orchard Hotel! Yes, they have quite a budget...when Prof Ng told me that the budget for the food was $55/head...my jaw dropped and saliva almost spilled out...LOL! NTU really do have a deep pocket to dig into...HAHA!

Apart from the food budget, a few projects were also featured. A few of my friend's projects that were selected were there. I was asking them if they were paid and they were like "Yup, $10/hr" !!!! They're paid $10/hr to stand around their project booth!! HAHA! No one actually cared about the projects...when dismissed, the food is the main attraction...haha!

Just to put together an event like this so much $$$ is spilled out...Whoaaa...Oh well...I hope I can get as much of the pay as possible by emceeing dry their budget...LOL!

Yup, a few pictures...Pardon the self-portraits...I couldn't resist...haha! And I was actually deciding whether should I wear my tie or shouldn't...haha...So while thinking, I took a few shots :D

Me WITHOUT tie :D
Me WITH tie :)
In the end, I stuck with the tie...Haha. I looked really plain with just a white shirt and a vest on so a tie is a good embellishment :) Haha.

Oh and through this event I met 2 new friends :D They were Aaron Tan and Hui Ning below :D

Aaron Tan, Me & Hui Ning :D
They are my seniors...Aaron is graduating and pursuing his PhD in NTU and Hui Ning is moving on to year 4. They were the students who shared their NTU EEE experience with our future EEE students :D

They were really friendly. When I had dinner with Prof Ng, Ms Eileen and the 2 of them, conversations were easy...partly because we're all in the same course.

If you're wondering who's Prof Ng, he's a professor stationed in the microelectronics division - one of the tougher and more science-filled course...and he is the assistant chair for outreach in the school of EEE. Quite a big shot...And Eileen is one of the admin staff :)

They are super friendly too. Prof Ng (Beng Koon) especially...His candid and straightforward sense of humour will really catch you off guard...haha. When I first met him for my emcee interview he was like "You're ok with emceeing for this event right? If you screw up, your life in EEE is over you know?" haha! Yes that was a joke...he broke the tension with a cheeky smile...haha! I didn't see that coming...but knowing me, I'm usually pretty cool so I just laughed it off with him...haha.

From there I also got to meet Prof Ng's 1st boss - Professor Tan Yap Peng, the associate chair of EEE...another big shot in EEE but he is SOOOO FRIENDLY and FUNNY! HAHA! Like seriously...he talks and jokes with you as if he's known you for years...Haha.

And the biggest boss which I met is the Chair of the school of EEE Professor Cheng Tee Hiang. He is a towering giant with a very calm and warm smile...haha. Spoke with him only like 3 times to tell him about the powerpoint slides and ask him what Q&A questions he wants to field.

After the whole thing all the professors were like "Wow, you did a very good job!" and Prof Ng was like "Jonavan, you're good you know?" and he even asked me to join his CCA - LEAD program. His CCA is not an open CCA, you can only join when invited. So I was pretty flattered. Haha!

But in the end, I don't think I got it cos my results aren't all too good...and I wouldn't wanna join it either...it may just tear my backside...haha!

Oh and I'm also the "confirmed" emcee for next year's EEE tea reception...HAHA! Prof Ng was telling me "Like army, once you kena an appointment once and if you do it well, you're the default guy. Same here. So I book you for next year's EEE tea reception already ah?" he said with a grin. Haha...Why would I reject such a great job offer? $15/hr to do what I love most - TALK! HAHAHAHA!

Yup, it was indeed an awesome experience :) Here's a few more pictures...

Take 2 of Aaron, me & Hui Ning :D
My friends!! Their project was on display at the EEE Tea reception! :D
My "Official" tag :D HAHA!
Yupyup, really thank God for helping me find favour in the eyes of the audition judges...haha. Thanks to them, I'm not only $105 richer but also got to meet new people :) Looking forward to the next and last emcee event! :) :)

Unposted ODAC stuffs! :)

Was going through my pictures and found many ODAC pictures not archived properly in facebook or in my blog...So here's a little flip through these un-classified photos :D

The first few were taken at Yishun SAFRA if I remember correctly...We were helpers at the SAFRA Avventura :) It's something like the amazing race organized in Singapore by SAFRA :D

Yup, we were the helpers...we helped the station masters to set up water points, bring the stores around and were the road marshals...

We reported the night before and slept over at SAFRA...so on our way there we saw this really nicely litted structure...
Pang Ngee and the tower of lights...haha
Me and Kai Sen at the tower of lights :D
Yup, next batch of photos was our Pumpfest Christmas outing or something like that...Haha. We all played card games like Bang!, Saboteur and we also flinged frisbees by the beach :) Below are a few shots of us enjoying ourselves at East Coast Park :D

Wei Hong, Me and Kai Sen with 2 cups of CHILI SAUCE!!
Wei Hong and I with our spammed serviettes...HEE :D
Yes we spammed chili sauce for our nuggets, fishballs, sotong balls, etc...hahaha. We also spammed serviettes for our lil' picnic at East Coast Park. Thanks McDonald's for sponsoring us with our much needed condiments and serviettes! LOL!

Pang Ngee, Kai Sen and myself enjoying the cup cakes! :D I think Ching Yee bought those..haha
All of us at our gazebo :D Look at our card games! :)
From left: Teck Kian, Chor Seng, Kai Sen, Me and Wei Hong :D We're all smiling with food in our mouths...HAHA!

All of us paused our munching to pose for the camera...haha
Group shot! :)
Pumpfest XV! :)
Me posing with my gift :D
Yes we had gift exchange! :) I can't remember what was my present though...HAHA! I think it was some sweet or something...For me, I bought a watch, which landed in the hands of our ODAC president - Yong Jun :D LOL!

Yup, that was an awesome get together before Christmas with the 15th Pumpfest Committee :D

Lastly, a super random photo...In my dad's car I spotted a Lamborghini on the road! So I quickly took out my phone and snapped a photo of it :D Haha...The driver was some old uncle by the way...LOL!

Lambo on Singapore's roads!!
 Yupyups...that was a few unposted photos :D

Alex's birthday sponsored by SAFRA! LOL :D

It's Alex Goh's birthday! :) So we - Kian Seng and myself decided to go play pool with him at Mount Faber SAFRA :D haha...

Alex and I came from school...he was working in NTU as some LT technician and I had a meeting with Prof Ng and Ms Eileen for my emcee session at the EEE tea reception ceremony :) I'll blog that one later :D

After everything, I met Alex and he BIKED me from NTU to SAFRA at Mount Faber!! That was my FIRST TIME sitting on a motorbike!!

The awesome thing about the motorbike is it can slip through a whole expressway of traffic jam...LOL! We encountered a massive traffic jam and Alex was simply speeding through the whole line of parked cars on the  expressway...haha...Scary but efficient. We beat the jam in no time.

And the ass part about him is he gave me a helmet without a windshield -.-" So I could hardly open my eyes throughout the journey...hahaha!

Yup, we arrived met Alex Koh Kian Seng and had our game of pool :D haha...Oh, we had dinner first at some coffee shop nearby...LOL.

Alex, Me & Kian Seng :)
The shot above was taken after our game of pool :) Next up is the best part of our whole SAFRA trip :D You'll now know why SAFRA "sponsored" his birthday :D

Alex suddenly had this ridiculous idea of going to the gambling - slot machines - room...Kian Seng and I were like "FOR WHAT?" haha...Alex was like "Just go there see see la..."

So we went there and were told to sign in. We however told the staff that we just wanted to walk walk so we were let in...haha

While walking pass the machines and seeing people play, we came across a free biscuit and coffee corner! There was also a relaxation corner filled with massage chairs and all...Upon seeing that, Alex was like "Go sign in la...then can take the coffee" HAHAHA!

So, sign in we all did :D HAHA! We then went on to spam the coffee, tea and biscuits! :) AWESOMEESSS!! HAHAHA!

Alex & I with our free biscuits and coffee! :D
Kian Seng and Alex laughing over our free coffee
We were basically laughing all the way as we gulped down our free coffee, tea and biscuits...HAHAHA! If you noticed in the picture above...behind Kian Seng is another guy exploiting the facilities...here's a close up photo of him...

Enjoying the free massage chair...LOL :D
You thought we were cheapos? C'mon, at least we didn't sleep on the massage chair like the gentleman in the picture above...hahaha!

We just took pictures with our freebies, chat, laugh and joke with our free supper that's all! LOL LOL! Shall wrap it up with a final picture of us with our supper...

Alex and myself :D
Yup, that was how we celebrated our dear Myanmar friend, Alex's birthday :D HAHA! Proudly sponsored by SAFRA! Ok, they weren't proud sponsors...they were unknowing sponsors...LOL!

So you know where to go next time for a treat! :D

Friends in HoGC! :)

Yes, another super long ago expired post...hahaha...The latest addition of our friends to Heart of God church is Joy Chua! :)

If you've read my previous "DIP" post you'll know that she is our very own DIP project mate :) A good friend I've made through this 3AU module in EEE year 2 :) haha.

Yup, below is a picture of us with Sabrina who did an awesome job in chatting with her and making her feel welcomed :D

From left: Chor Seng, me, Joy, Sabrina & Kai Sen :D
She came for the marriage series sermon by Ps How. He was preaching about the 5 different love languages that day. He talked about how we may give a certain love language but not like to receive it and went on to give different scenarios that illustrates the many pointers in his sermons :)

I learnt about the love languages way back like 3-5 years ago when I was still in Bethel. But this sermon was a refreshing visit to what I think I already know.

Ps How was sharing on how he likes to exhibit acts of services to Ps Lia like making her a cup of coffee every morning and how Ps Lia prefers touch as her more important love language. So there's a lil' different frequency there...He talked about how we must learn to speak the language of love that the other party will understand.

We cannot just love on our own terms but we have to learn to love in their terms! This was the biggest takeaway for me.

Me, Kai Sen, Chi Wen, Sabrina, Joy and Chor Seng :)
Take 2 :D
Yup, after expounding on the love languages, he went on ask all of us to rank the love languages in 2 categories:

1) The order of importance of the love languages we like to RECEIVE
2) The order of importance of the love languages we like to GIVE

After that we all went around comparing our love languages. It was really like a mass group discussion seminar kinda thing and we were all on and about getting excited whenever we see someone have the same ranking as us. LOL.

Joy enjoyed herself thoroughly. She was telling me how applicable the sermon was and how nice the people are :)

Well, initially that wasn't really the case...She was kinda shy and wanted to sit at the extreme end of the row...haha...Before the meet up she even asked me not to sit with her and that she wanted to sit in the service alone... -.-" HAHA!

But oh well, all's well, ends well :) My prayer is that she'll come back to God and just abandon her life at His feet and watch how He transforms her life into something beautiful :)

Take 2 with Chi Wen :D
Well, basically that's the prayer for all my friends :D That they'll discover that the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the arms of the very person who made you, yourself :)

Below is a run up of the friends we've brought to Heart of God Church so far :) The only 2 friends who stayed are Chor Seng and Kai Sen...haha...but better a taste of heaven than none :) haha!

Me, Chor Seng, Sam & Kai Sen :D
SAM! He came for Canon J. John's evangelistic service :) Sam still remembers his message loud and clear - which seat is Jesus in in the car of your life? Is Jesus in the boot? Is He in the backseat, passenger seat? Or is He in the driver's seat?

Up till now we still use that question to poke him randomly...HAHA! Sam is basically convinced that Christianity is the way to life...It's like the way we EEE students believe in formulas like P=VI but don't really go deep into it to let it affect our lives.

The matter of fact is, P=VI affects our daily lives! If not all our electronics won't work! It's the same way that Jesus affects our lives. If He's not where He is, our lives won't work! Creation will cease to exist!

Yup, I'm just awaiting that moment when he encounters God. That's all it takes to make a Christian :) A life-changing, world-stopping, breath-taking encounter with the One who brought all things into being :) In God's time... :)
I just lost the ugly face contest...I think Kai Sen won...HAHAHA! :D
Oh and another friend came as well :) He's JONATHAN WONG! A national runner or more than that...an international runner for his school :)

Yup, my parents invited his parents and he tagged along. Thank God there was an empty seat beside me for him...LOL. Had a great time catching up with him :) He was one of my indirect guitar students during STRETCH camp! :) Haha...from there we sort of talked and played chess and all...haha

I pray that he'll be faithful in attending church...I mean, that's the bare minimum of Christianity - to give God a  day in a week. Not too much to ask right? He gave you your whole life after all...Haha.

Me and Jonathan :)
Going further back in our NTU timeline...we brought JONIECE and TIAN RUI to our Christmas Eve service 2011! :)

From left: Chi Wen, Jon Yuan, Kai Sen, Joniece, Chor Seng, Tian Rui and myself :D
All of us again...This time with Hong Hwee :)
I still remember why I was clad in that super hot leather jacket of mine...Haha. I was part of the choir performance! We walked down the aisle singing, grooving and snapping our fingers away to "All I want for Christmas is you" :)

Haha...After that we all headed for lunch at Just Acia at Marina Square...Tian Rui left for somewhere...haha...Oh well, we didn't stay to eat either...only Kai Sen stayed. Chor Seng and Joniece headed off to another friend's church for their Christmas service :)

Kai Sen, Joniece, Chor Seng and me :D
Yup, I hope to be posting more pictures of our friends coming to church soon :) I mean, where else is there better to go to? There's no entrance fee, there's tons of good friends, great fellowship, good lessons to learn about life, etc...What better place to spend your weekend! Haha.

Yeash! Come, come, all the lost and the found! Let us rise up with a holy sound! - Lyric by Hillsong United "Freedom We Know" haha...Stay tuned for more friends! :)
