Friends in HoGC! :)

Yes, another super long ago expired post...hahaha...The latest addition of our friends to Heart of God church is Joy Chua! :)

If you've read my previous "DIP" post you'll know that she is our very own DIP project mate :) A good friend I've made through this 3AU module in EEE year 2 :) haha.

Yup, below is a picture of us with Sabrina who did an awesome job in chatting with her and making her feel welcomed :D

She came for the marriage series sermon by Ps How. He was preaching about the 5 different love languages that day. He talked about how we may give a certain love language but not like to receive it and went on to give different scenarios that illustrates the many pointers in his sermons :)

I learnt about the love languages way back like 3-5 years ago when I was still in Bethel. But this sermon was a refreshing visit to what I think I already know.

Ps How was sharing on how he likes to exhibit acts of services to Ps Lia like making her a cup of coffee every morning and how Ps Lia prefers touch as her more important love language. So there's a lil' different frequency there...He talked about how we must learn to speak the language of love that the other party will understand.

We cannot just love on our own terms but we have to learn to love in their terms! This was the biggest takeaway for me.

Me, Kai Sen, Chi Wen, Sabrina, Joy and Chor Seng :)
Take 2 :D
Yup, after expounding on the love languages, he went on ask all of us to rank the love languages in 2 categories:

1) The order of importance of the love languages we like to RECEIVE
2) The order of importance of the love languages we like to GIVE

After that we all went around comparing our love languages. It was really like a mass group discussion seminar kinda thing and we were all on and about getting excited whenever we see someone have the same ranking as us. LOL.

Joy enjoyed herself thoroughly. She was telling me how applicable the sermon was and how nice the people are :)

Well, initially that wasn't really the case...She was kinda shy and wanted to sit at the extreme end of the row...haha...Before the meet up she even asked me not to sit with her and that she wanted to sit in the service alone... -.-" HAHA!

But oh well, all's well, ends well :) My prayer is that she'll come back to God and just abandon her life at His feet and watch how He transforms her life into something beautiful :)

Take 2 with Chi Wen :D
Well, basically that's the prayer for all my friends :D That they'll discover that the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the arms of the very person who made you, yourself :)

Below is a run up of the friends we've brought to Heart of God Church so far :) The only 2 friends who stayed are Chor Seng and Kai Sen...haha...but better a taste of heaven than none :) haha!

Me, Chor Seng, Sam & Kai Sen :D
SAM! He came for Canon J. John's evangelistic service :) Sam still remembers his message loud and clear - which seat is Jesus in in the car of your life? Is Jesus in the boot? Is He in the backseat, passenger seat? Or is He in the driver's seat?

Up till now we still use that question to poke him randomly...HAHA! Sam is basically convinced that Christianity is the way to life...It's like the way we EEE students believe in formulas like P=VI but don't really go deep into it to let it affect our lives.

The matter of fact is, P=VI affects our daily lives! If not all our electronics won't work! It's the same way that Jesus affects our lives. If He's not where He is, our lives won't work! Creation will cease to exist!

Yup, I'm just awaiting that moment when he encounters God. That's all it takes to make a Christian :) A life-changing, world-stopping, breath-taking encounter with the One who brought all things into being :) In God's time... :)
I just lost the ugly face contest...I think Kai Sen won...HAHAHA! :D
Oh and another friend came as well :) He's JONATHAN WONG! A national runner or more than that...an international runner for his school :)

Yup, my parents invited his parents and he tagged along. Thank God there was an empty seat beside me for him...LOL. Had a great time catching up with him :) He was one of my indirect guitar students during STRETCH camp! :) Haha...from there we sort of talked and played chess and all...haha

I pray that he'll be faithful in attending church...I mean, that's the bare minimum of Christianity - to give God a  day in a week. Not too much to ask right? He gave you your whole life after all...Haha.

Me and Jonathan :)
Going further back in our NTU timeline...we brought JONIECE and TIAN RUI to our Christmas Eve service 2011! :)

From left: Chi Wen, Jon Yuan, Kai Sen, Joniece, Chor Seng, Tian Rui and myself :D
All of us again...This time with Hong Hwee :)
I still remember why I was clad in that super hot leather jacket of mine...Haha. I was part of the choir performance! We walked down the aisle singing, grooving and snapping our fingers away to "All I want for Christmas is you" :)

Haha...After that we all headed for lunch at Just Acia at Marina Square...Tian Rui left for somewhere...haha...Oh well, we didn't stay to eat either...only Kai Sen stayed. Chor Seng and Joniece headed off to another friend's church for their Christmas service :)

Kai Sen, Joniece, Chor Seng and me :D
Yup, I hope to be posting more pictures of our friends coming to church soon :) I mean, where else is there better to go to? There's no entrance fee, there's tons of good friends, great fellowship, good lessons to learn about life, etc...What better place to spend your weekend! Haha.

Yeash! Come, come, all the lost and the found! Let us rise up with a holy sound! - Lyric by Hillsong United "Freedom We Know" haha...Stay tuned for more friends! :)
