Pumpfest XV Meet Up!

Yup, this is another long expired post...haha! This took place on the 12th of July 2012...haha...It was a lil' meet up before FOOT'12 to catch up and discuss our PumpfestXV retreat :D

We met up at Tampopo at Orchard...in Takashimaya if I remember correctly..Haha...Yup, as usual, makan and chat lor...haha...Just that our chats were centred around FOOT'12 as we were all looking forward to this memorable landmark in our ODAC journey :D

Yup, here's a few pictures taken during dinner :D

Kai Sen & I :D
+ Yi Qian :D haha :)
Pang Ngee a.k.a Sweden Boy & myself :D
PumpfestXV! :D
Take 2 :D
The best part of this outing was after dinner...we randomly decided to WATCH A MOVIE...HAHA! We then walked over to Cineleisure to decide what movie to watch...most of them left already because of the fear of cabbing back after the movie...Haha.

So because we didn't want to cab back, we chose a movie that didn't start too late...There was "Ice Age 3" which faced violent objections from me & Gui Ru...HAHA!

Then there was "Abraham Lincoln" the vampire-president...Kai Sen said he watched it already and it was good...BUT, watching that movie meant cabbing home...So it was scrapped...

Next on the list? PAINTED SKIN 2 -.-" I'm giving the -.-" face from hindsight...HAHA! We all thought "Kung-fu movie...ok la..."

So we all happily bought the movie tickets and went shopping...because we had about 30mins to spare before the commencement of the -.- movie...HAHA!

Anyway, here's the second best part of the movie...We went to this cool, funky shop that sells many interesting accessories, stationery and what-nots...Here's a picture of Ching Yee & Shi Min trying out their funky specs..."Funky" applies to Ching Yee's choice only...HAHAHA!

Ching Yee & Mei mei trying out specs..ahaha! Mei mei has a fantastic fashion taste...HAHAHA! LOL! :D
Ok, here's the best part...In this shop, they had a phone booth on sale...YES...a cute, human sized phone booth on sale!

AND THE PHONE BOOTH WORKS...How do I know? I USED IT TO PRANK CALL PRISCILLA! HAHAHA! The funniest thing is...SHE IS IN THE SHOP WITH ME!! HAHAHAHA!

I prank-called her with my ALL-TIME FAMOUS girl voice...HAHAHA! It has tricked like almost ALL my friends for the first, if not second and third time...HAHA! This is a blurry re-collection of how the conversation went...

J: Hi, is this Priscilla?
P: Yes, who is this?
J: Oh I'm calling from Cathay. I need you to come down to change the movie tickets you just bought.
P: Oh, ok, why?
J: Yup, there's a problem with your tickets
P: May I know what's the problem?
J: You come down and you'll know, we'll settle it for you
P: Oh, ok...
J: And you're shopping in *shop name* right now right?
P: Sorry?

At this point, everyone was controlling their laughter and looking at Priscilla...but she still DIDN'T NOTICE!! HAHAHA! She was too mesmerized by my soothing, alto female voice...HAHAHAHA!

I continued talking and I was already looking at her from where I was prank-calling her and finally, she looked over and saw me smiling, talking and looking at her...THEN SHE REALIZED...HAHAHA!

What followed was a uproar of laughter from all of us...HAHAHAHA! LOL LOL! Oh and anyway, I bought a super nice pair of berms with Wei Hong at Pescados while shopping too...after the prank call..LOL!

OK SO HERE COMES THE BEST PART...Sorry, I have too many best parts...they all are best parts la...so allow me to re-use this phrase...HAHA!

Walked into the cinema like a boss...sat down, crunch popcorn and allowed the story to unfold......And unfold it did...unbelievably...HAHA!

YES, the movie was super UNBELIEVABLE!! The kung-fu effects, graphics and all were SUPER FAKE!! The phoenix flying in from the sky, explosions, etc...ALL OBVIOUS COMPUTER EDITS -.-" LOL LOL!

To my left was Ching Yee who was sort of enjoying the show...To my right was Priscilla who was controlling her pee with me...HAHAHA! We both had full bladders -.-" LOL!

To Priscilla's right was Pang Ngee, who was soooo bored that he began whatsapping and surfing net on his handphone...HAHA! To Pang Ngee's right is the best candidate...WEI HONG...SLEEPING. WOWS!! HAHAHA!

The row behind me consisted of Joyce, Tee Li, Gui Ru & Shi Min...They were absorbed into the show! WOW!

The show's effects got pretty lame and me & Priscilla began forming our own lines for the movie characters and laughing ourselves away...HAHAHA! It actually made the controlling of our bladder muscles worst but...we were too bored...HAHA!

The romantic climax of the movie was SUPER FAIL. HAHA! The 2 spirits were like flying in the air and inter-weaving as they flew higher and higher...It was a sweet moment with gentle music playing to bring out the sentiments in the viewers....and suddenly...*BOOOOOMMMMMM* THERE WAS A BIG EXPLOSION!!!

Priscilla, Pang Ngee & I BURST OUT LAUGHING!! HAHAHAHAHA! LOL!! What an abrupt end to what was meant to be emotional, sentimental and romantic because of the lost of a dear friend..."WOWS + CLAPS HANDSSS" is what I have left to do when I think back of that EPIC scene...HAHAHAHA!

The last best part is...I was talking to Alex Goh (Ex-SPO of pumpfest) recently and he was telling me that when he was a subcomm in pumpfest 2 years ago, one of their subcomm outings also involved them watching PAINTED SKIN ONE....HAHAHAHAHA!

So now PumpfestXV was merely carrying on the tradition of watching PAINTED SKIN 2 as a committee!! LOL LOL!!!

That really got us laughing real hard....HAHAHAHA! Anyway, the outing was fun...ODAC is FUN! :) Love the culture and the people that make the culture :)

Yup, 2 more years for me in NTU and I'll definitely be hanging around in the ODAC scene! :D

Footprints Birthday Surprise

Once again, I'm blogging expired posts...HAHA! This took place on the 27th July 2012!! 2 months ago! LOL! Oh well, all these lil' things in my life's journey is always worth logging down :D

Yes, it's my BIRTHDAY SURPRISE!! :D And I was REALLY surprised...LOL! Because they celebrated my birthday 2 WEEKS BEFORE the actual date! Who'd expect that? LOL!

And yes, Footprints is a start-up company by a few of my friends and I'm a part of it! :D Privileged me :) haha! So yeah, we always have meetings and catch-up sessions so I thought this one was just another ordinary meeting. Haha...Great job guys! :D LOL!

BUT, the birthday surprise wasn't a total success either...HAHAHA! I was only supposed to find out when the cake arrived! Here's how I foiled their plan...LOL LOL!

I went to the toilet! HAHA! So thinking I'd take a long time, SARAH took my birthday card and started writing her message on it...And I suddenly APPEARED back from the toilet! HAHAHA!

GUESS WHAT WAS HER REACTION??? HAHAHAHA!

SHE GOT A SHOCK AND SORT OF JUMPED IN HER SEAT AND SHE SUDDENLY PACKED UP WHATEVER SHE WAS DOING REALLLLLLYYYYY FAST.

HAHAHAHA! I was wondering why she was behaving so suspiciously...and then I realized...HAHA! If dear old Sarah didn't have such a BIG reaction, I probably wouldn't have noticed...HAHAHA! LOL LOL! Anyway, here's a picture of the fantastic pop-up card :D

My cutesy POP-UP card! :D

Anyway, we had dinner at Wu Han steamboat at Clarke Quay :D It was a buffet-style steamboat :D Here's a pic of us there :)

All of us! :D
The food was not too bad but the food on the mini conveyor belt hardly had meat...Yes there are servings of it...but very little...too little to go round...What's usually left is the mushrooms, vegetables, mantous, etc... -.-

But yes, you can order meat and other cooked food from the waiters...BUT...the waiting time for it is really a time of patience-grooming...HAHA!

Their service was also average...or somewhat below average...the waitress kept insisting we take only 1 bowl of soup first while waiting for the rest of our friends to arrive...and we kept telling her "they coming already...by the time you serve us, our friends would have arrived." BUT SHE INSISTED ON SERVING US ONLY 1 BOWL -.-"

True enough, by the time the 1 bowl was served and heated up for steam-boating, the rest of our friends arrived -.-"

They were also kinda under-staffed because no one came to clear our plates...I had to take an extra chair to pile all our used plates on it...Unsightly.

Yup, our experience there was less than memorable...The interesting thing about the place is...It had KARAOKE! HAHAHA! So you could sing and eat at the same time...

Only one big TV screen for the whole restaurant though...Haha! So if you sing terribly, you'll just make all the customers puke their food into the steamboat...HAHAHA!

Ok, enough of the ramblings...we had a great time of chatting, laughing and eating...here's the rest of the photos we took :D

Jan, Me & Sarah with my b'day card :D
Take 2 w/o b'day card :D haha...
Happy shot...LOL!
The J's...Me, Jon Yuan & Jan :D

Yup, had a great time with them as always :D Light-hearted, talented, innovative and creative team of people that I believe will bring Footprints to great places :)
